Who this is for

OC Medic is an independent resource for Orange County EMS clinicians. It is not affiliated with Orange County EMS. Guides state their patient population, scope, and any deliberately limited coverage.

Where instructions come from

Guides summarize the official OCEMS policies, procedures, and drug charts linked on that page. Each medication page separates adult and pediatric dosing or explicitly states when pediatric authority/dosing is absent. The coverage page reconciles the core required and optional inventory; transport, FS-ARN, and historical vaccine references retain their separate scopes. Paramedic Kardex informed the concise presentation; clinical instructions are reconciled against OCEMS documents. The full source and current system notices remain essential.

What the dates mean

A source check records when the document or index was inspected. It is separate from a document’s revision date, implementation date, and a clinical review. Summary update dates describe changes to our own content.

Using these summaries

Published guides are independent summaries of the linked OCEMS documents. Source dates identify the material used; they do not confer treatment authority. Follow the applicable standing order, current system notices, and agency medical direction. Source-directory pages provide links and metadata.

Pediatric dose tables

Exact-weight examples are calculated from the named OCEMS standing-order or procedure formula, with indication-specific limits and stated concentrations. They are distinct from rounded I-20 weight-band entries. Age restrictions, fixed doses, base-order requirements, and absent pediatric authority remain explicit. General consumer pediatric dosing is not added to medications outside the cited OCEMS scope.
