## A designation list is not live destination status

- Use current OCEMS trauma-triage, base-contact, and destination direction; this page does not show real-time diversion or specialty-bed availability.
- Rady Children's Hospital Orange County is the pediatric trauma center on the current OCEMS specialty-services list.
- Long Beach Memorial Medical Center is included under a Los Angeles County EMS designation.

## Current trauma receiving centers

- Five hospitals appear on OCEMS Policy 240.10, effective January 1, 2026.
- Facility names below follow the official OCEMS list; the notes distinguish the pediatric-only and out-of-county entries.

| Trauma receiving center | City | Designation note |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Rady Children's Hospital Orange County | Orange | Pediatric trauma only |
| Orange County Global Medical Center | Santa Ana | Orange County trauma center |
| Mission Hospital - Mission Viejo | Mission Viejo | Orange County trauma center |
| UCI Health - Orange | Orange | Orange County trauma center |

## Use the list in the field

1. Apply the current OCEMS trauma-triage criteria and algorithm; do not choose a trauma center from mechanism or facility name alone.
2. Obtain required base-hospital contact and destination direction under the applicable standing order and policy.
3. Confirm current system notices and receiving status. The designation list establishes which facilities are trauma centers, not whether a center can accept a particular patient at that moment.
4. For pediatric patients, distinguish a pediatric trauma destination from a general comprehensive children's or pediatric intensive-care destination.
